World Teachers’ Day

Did you know this Sunday, October 5th 2014 is World Teachers’ Day?  I have to admit, this is the first year I was aware but it was established in 1994.  So what’s this day all about?  Like any other declared day, it’s about raising awareness and support for, you guessed it, TEACHERS, but not just here in the US, worldwide!  Here’s a link to read more details about World Teachers’ Day, WTD.

Also, here’s one way you can participate.  TeachForAll is celebrating this day and asking for your voice.  Checked out this page they’ve created with imagines including facts about the impact of education and share on social media.  They are also asking the question “Why should the world invest in education?” and want to hear your thoughts through your posts with #TeachFor.

When you turn on your TV to watch the evening news, read the newspaper or your favorite news site, isn’t it ever more clear right now?  How can we afford not to invest in education everywhere?

Education breeds confidence.

Confidence breeds hope.

Hope breeds peace.
